Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians of Destiny High School Students

I want to welcome you to the Destiny High School Family! Welcome, new and returning families. We are excited for what God has in store for us this year! We are grateful for your support, and we look forward to establishing and cultivating a fruitful partnership.

As a Cognia fully accredited high school, we are proud of all our recent accomplishments; however, there is more work to be done to ensure our students experience another year of academic growth and transformational change in mind, body, and spirit. We can only do this through prayer and your consistent involvement, presence, and support. We value your input and feedback and look forward to nurturing a quality working relationship.

Our focus for the 2025-2026 school year is to continue to increase rigor in our instructional program. Our instructors will be working to ensure that high-quality, college-preparatory teaching and learning occur in all subject areas through consistent staff development and professional development opportunities. These opportunities will allow our teachers to enhance their teaching skills to meet the diverse needs of our students. At Destiny, we expect our students to show demonstrable evidence of growth.

Destiny High School is committed to maintaining a Christian atmosphere where standards of excellence are expected and upheld by all learning community members. In addition, our students will learn about and ultimately develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our theme for this year is "Courage to Stand Out." Paul writes in Romans 12:2, “2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Parents and guardians, for our partnership to be fruitful and effective, we need you to be active and willing participants in your student's school life. We expect parents to be responsive to school communications and to attend events like parent-teacher conferences. We expect all students to maintain consistent attendance and be in their first block classes by 8:20 AM – on time, on task, and ready to learn. The cutoff time to enter school will be 9:25 AM. Students arriving after 9:25 AM will need a documented excuse and/or administrator approval. Always keep the school updated with your new contact information, like phone numbers and addresses, to ensure you do not miss any essential communications from the school.

Please take some time to familiarize yourself with our student handbook. The policies and procedures outlined in this handbook are essential for you to know, understand, and follow. By entering this partnership, you are agreeing to abide by our student handbook to ensure that your student(s) can learn and grow in a safe environment.

Once again, thank you for choosing the Destiny family, and I look forward to meeting each of you throughout the school year. I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family during the 2025-2026 school year.
